Swansea
Michael and Kathy Mason invited us to visit them. In the afternoon, we went for a walk along a beach that is close to their home. Later, we went for a visit to Kate's Berry farm where we enjoyed some delicious ice cream and berries as we sat and looked at the view across the water towards the Freycinet Peninsular.

St Helens Point and Beer Barrel Beach
A visit to Seaview Farm
We stopped off at Seaview Farm, near St Marys, to visit Julia Weston. It is always very stimulating to spend time with Julia. We were interested to see the developments she has created and to hear about her plans for the future. We were delighted to be able to visit her beautiful herb garden. She is in the process off creating a unique fence around the garden. The views of the east coast from the farm are quite spectacular.
Memorial Wall for Cornwall coal miners
On our way to the east coast, we made a detour to the historical coal mining village of Cornwall.
I spent some holidays there when I was a child in the late 1940s. At that time I had an uncle who was the teacher at the school. I just wanted to see if I could recognise the original school house.
In the area that was once the school yard, there is now a Memorial Wall that records the names of all of the people who have worked in the Cornwall coal mines over the years. There were many family names that I remembered. There are some beautiful rose bushes planted on either side of a path that leads to the Wall. Although it was lightly raining, I photographed some of the rose blooms.
A little further up the hill we visited 'Cornwall Collectibles'. We enjoyed our visit to this terrific collection and would recommend a visit if you are a collector. You are sure to find a treasure in this Alladin's cave!

We take Derry to visit Terry and Wendy
Derry Nielsen is visiting us briefly during her four month trip from Sweden. She is seriously considering moving to Tasmania, so we decided that we should show her a little of the North West Coast. This afternoon we went on a quick trip to Ulverstone and Devonport. We were invited to have afternoon tea with Terry and Wendy Onley, Baha'i friends who live in house at Ulverstone that has an elevated view of the coast.
On our return journey, we called at the Raspberry Farm and Cafe near Elizabeth Town, where we purchased some fresh raspberries that we later enjoyed for our evening dessert.

Seeking Layli at Badger Head Beach
Our friend, John MacLeod arranged for us to meet at Badger Head Beach today. It was a perfect day to spend some time at the beach. Although this beach is large and pristine, apart form our group, there were no more than 8 other people there. This is Tasmania!!
Firstly we gathered for our devotions, then we moved onto the beach. Most of the group went for a swim before lunch, while others, including myself spent time walking along the beach and paddling in the beautiful clear sea water. I spent a lot of time taking photos of the various patterns and textures of the beach and coastal environment.
