Callington Mill at Oatlands

Callington Mill was constructed by John Vincent and flour was first ground there on October 15 1837. By 1840 it was producing 30 bushels of flour an hour. During a violent windstorm in 1909, the sails were torn from the ogee(dome) of the windmill and deposited in nearby Lake Dulverton. The interior of the mill was gutted by fire in 1912. Since 1978, conservation and restoration of the complex has been on going, as finance has permitted.
