Boat Harbour

We headed for Boat Harbour Beach. Kim remembered the very fine white sand to be found on this unique beach located on the NW Coast not far past Wynyard. When one walks on the slightly damp sand on this beach it makes a squeeking sound. I have always enjoyed exploring the rocks and rock pools on this beach. It was the site for our annual school picnics when I attended Burnie High school in the 1950s. When our children were young, we would visit this beach each summer. In those days, our very good friends, David and Beverly Dunn had a shack very close to the beach and we generally made an annual summertime pilgrimage to their shack and the beach. Lots of wonderful memories.
