We visited the Grant House Museum and the Killymaddy Information Centre. The Grant House was the home of the Simpson family. This is the area where my Crothers ancestors lived before they moved to Liverpool and then subsequently sailed to Tasmania. I was interested to get a feel for the landscape and countryside and it was interesting to find that the terrain is very similar to the area where my great grandfather Crothers farmed in Tasmania. The Grant House Museum also gave me some idea of the kind of house they would have lived in at the time.
