New Brunswick

We left Banbridge on Sunday afternoon and drove down to Dublin ready to catch our flight to London early the next morning. We stayed at a nice B & B called Blackbridge Lodge which is conveniently situated at Swords and just a short drive to the airport. On Monday we had several flights to get us to Moncton in New Brunswick : Dublin - London - Montreal - Moncton. Our dear friends Trish and David met us at the Moncton airport at about 11 p.m. It was wonderful to see them. They very generously organised several day trips to show us around their part of Canada.
Today, they took us for a drive up the Arcadian Coast and we visited the Irving Memorial Park and the Elizabethan Gardens where we had a picnic lunch. Later we visited the Irving Eco Centre at Bouctouche where we used a board walk to visit a very nice beach. One of the main purposes in creating the Irving Eco-Centre: La Dune de Bouctouche was to increase the public's understanding of the dune's threatened environment. This led to the construction of a major boardwalk to enable visitors to access the long beach without causing damage to the ecosystem of the dune.
To complete our day out, we visited St Anne de Kent and spent time at the La Savonnerie Soapery.
