Haddon Hall
After lunch back at Ken and Edna's home, they decided to take us for a visit to Haddon Hall in Derbyshire. Haddon Hall is a medieval and Tudor manor house. The original structure dates back to Norman times and it is actually mentioned in the Domesday Book. It is still used as a family home by the Manners family.
It is interesting to note that the building has been regularly used for the filming of TV dramas and movies. Recently, part of the most recent movie version of Pride and Prejudice was filmed there. The furniture and architectural details including the kitchen and chapel - with original wall hangings were particularly interesting to visit.
The rose garden is very beautiful, so Noel and I took lots of photos of flowers during our time at the site.
