Lanhydrock

We bade farewell to Clarissa, Jeremy and their son Gabriel and set off for Cornwall. On the way to St Austell, we planned to spend some time at another National Trust property, situated quite near Bodmin. It is called Lanhydrock. We spent most of the afternoon there exploring the beautiful house and grounds. There were 50 rooms in the house to visit. The network of kitchens was quite fascinating to explore and the box room was truly amazing as it is stacked with cases, boxes and bags of all shapes and sizes. The gardens had beautiful displays of rhododendrons, magnolias, roses and peonies as well as poppies and other typical cottage garden plants. A church and a thatched cottage in the upper gardens also provided lots of interesting subjects for photographs.
