A visit to the Marais
We had made an arrangement to meet Violetta for brunch at a cafe in the old Jewish quarter of Paris. It is a nice place to visit on a Sunday as the cafes, snack bars, book stores, gift shops and street markets are open for business. We walked past a synagogue built in an art nouveau style and continued on to the Places des Vosges - a nice place to sit and watch the world go by. The brunch was delicious and very satisfying. The interior of the cafe we visited reminded me of similar places where we have eaten in Melbourne and Hobart, furnished with old style wooden kitchen tables and chairs, club style lounge chairs and the walls decorated with posters for concerts and stage shows.
