Hopewell Rocks Park

On the way to visit this unique site, we stopped off at Farmer's Market in Dieppe and then a little a later we visited an antique store where I found an old tin that once held needles that played the old 78RPM recordsto add to my collection.

The Hopewell Rocks are rock formations caused by tidal erosion. They are located on the shores of the upper reaches of the Bay of Fundy at Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick. Due to the extreme tidal range of the Bay of Fundy, the formations are covered with water twice per day. It is possible to view the formations from ground level at low tide. Trish and David timed our visit to coincide with the low tide period so we used the tall metal stairs to descend to the temporarily uncovered beach area.

Once the tide turns, the water level rises very dramatically and very swiftly.
