St Anne's Sheldon, Cork

This famous Cork landmark stands on the hillside overlooking the city and the River Lee. The church was constructed in 1722 and has a facade made of limestone on two sides and of red sandstone on the other two. The steeple is topped by a weather vane in the shape of a salmon. We climbed the tower and rang the famous bells. The tower gave us grand views across the city.
