St James Church Museum, Dorchester (NB)

Our next place to visit was a little museum that has been established in an old church in Dorchester. The church was built in 1884 during an important church building era here in Dorchester. It now houses black smiths' tools and many other unique hand tools related to farming as well as looms, spinning wheels and other textile paraphenalia. The focus is on traditional textile techniques in this collection. Wool and flax are the major fibres used in the demonstrations. Betty Adams was the lady in charge and she very kidly gave us a nice introduction to the history of the area.
