Eccleshall

We had arranged to spend some time with our friend Judith Oppenheimer. Again, thanks to googlemaps.uk along with input over the phone from Judith, we soon found the Oppenheimer residence near Hill Chorton. We joined Judith and her mother for morning tea.
Judith then very kindly took us for a drive to a nearby village called Eccleshall. We went for a stroll along the main street and Judith pointed out some distinctive architectural features such as patterned brick work and special window construction. We eventually reached an interesting old church and graveyard with some headstones beautifully engraved with copperplate style lettering.
We enjoyed lunch at the Jasmine Peking restaurant that offered a business lunch special (with choices). It was a most enjoyable lunch, after which we returned to spend some more time with Mrs Oppenheimer. As a result of our chatting with Judith, we discovered that her father had made beautiful wheel thrown ceramics and that he had also undertaken a course in bookbinding.
Mrs Oppenheimer graciously agreed that we could see her late husband's work, so Judith set them up for us and I took photographs of his beautiful pottery pieces. I am sure that I would have enjoyed meeting Mr Oppenheimer very much.
