Jim and Sylvia

On Saturday morning, Ken and Edna took us to visit their good friends, Jim and Sylvia . They are both very inspiring artists. They live in a beautiful old Victorian house closer to the city. The area is called Broomhill. which is adjacent to another area called Broomhall. Jim used to wotk as an Education adviser with Ken, before they both retired. Although Jim spends most of his waking hours in a wheel chair, he has a wonderful studio where he continues to paint and draw at every opportunity.
Sylvia had her studio in a smaller room upstairs. It is also beautifully organised with lots of inspiring art works displayed on the walls. Sylvia specialises in botanical studies. They have wonderful collections of objects such as old dolls, angels, Victoriana, as well of lots of beautiful books including some of the Sabuda pop-ups that Noel and I also collect.
Sylvia also enjoys gardening so she and Ken share their interest and knowledge of plants.
