Yorkshire Sculpture Park at West Bretton

I had made arrangements to visit West Bretton College campus to see Leonard Bartle who was such a big help to me when I spent time at the college in the early 90s undertaking some background research for my PhD thesis.
we drove down the Motorway from York and met Leonard in the Library/ Archives building where he has worked for many years.
He very kindly spent a couple of hours with us visiting the new Sculpture Park Gallery that was designed by Peter Clegg, son of the late Sir Alec Clegg and Lady Jess Clegg. We enjoyed morning coffee and a catch up with Leonard in the cafe before he took us to visit a new site in the Sculpture Park that incorporates an exisiting deer shelter. It is called 'Skyspace' and was designed by James Turrell who also had a 3 piece exhibition on show on the underground section of the new gallery.
