Thomas Hardy's cottage

We returned to our hotel by bus and said our farewells to Alison before heading off in the car towards Dorset. I had booked a B&B for the night on a farm near Lyme Regis and Axminster. However, before we reached Dorchester, we had time to make a slight detour to visit the home of Thomas Hardy. The house is located in a forest a few kms down a lane from the main motorway. After we parked the car, we took the option of walking through the forest. Compared to the grand style homes we had visited so far on this trip, it was nice to experience a typical country cottage with a thatched roof and small rooms set in a forest glade.
After our visit, we took photos in the typical English country garden and set off for the B&B.
